2009 Sustainability Report presentation conference

On 28 May at the Hotel Carlton in Bologna, stakeholders were presented with the 2009 Sustainability Report, an event that for four years has represented an important meeting point to discuss the commitments undertaken, results achieved and future prospects.

Dialogue with stakeholders represents the business model with which Hera seeks to produce added value and positive results for the communities, the environment, and the areas in which it operates: 967.5 million euro the wealth produced and distributed to company stakeholders, which comes to 1.6 billion euro also considering the economic value of supplies.

The Hera approach to sustainability was presented, to around 350 people, by Chairman Tomaso Tommasi di Vignano and Managing Director Maurizio Chiarini.

Guest at the conference was writer and economist Jacques Attali, former advisor to French President Mitterand and President of the Commission for the Liberation of Growth, established by President Sarkozy. His talk included a number of interesting reflections on sustainability applied to the corporate management model.

After the presentation of the report by Group Corporate Social Responsibility Director Filippo Bocchi, there was a round table on issues relating to sustainability and corporate social responsibility moderated by Sole24Ore journalist Jacopo Giliberto. Those taking part in the round table included Anna Maria Cancellieri, Extraordinary Member of the Municipality of Bologna, Simonetta Saliera, Vice chair of Regione Emilia-Romagna, Andrea Segré, Head of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Bologna and Chairman of Last Minute Market, Pierluigi Stefanini, Chairman of Unipol Gruppo Finanziario and Chairman of Impronta Etica, and Giovanni Moro, Lecturer in the Sociology of political phenomena at the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Macerata and Chairman of FONDACA.

And to create an even more direct form of involvement with the public, from 28 May to 14 June Hera will bring its sustainability ideas to Piazza Re Enzo, in Bologna. A genuine exhibition dedicated to the main themes of the 2009 Report will be displayed on 20 large panels: the quality and cost of services, customer relations, the effects of activities on the community, distribution of value added to stakeholders, dialogue with the local community, the safeguarding of the environment.
