The cookie policy statement shown below, relating to the use of cookies on this website, is provided to the user/website visitor in implementation of the provision of the Italian Data Protection Authority dated 8 May 2014 "Identification of the simplified procedures for the provision of a cookie policy and the acquisition of consent for the use of cookies" and in compliance with Article 13 of the GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation No. 679/2016).
The cookie policy statement is prepared and updated by Hera S.p.A., the website operator and Data Controller for data associated with it, with registered office in Viale Carlo Berti Pichat 2/4 - 40127 Bologna tel +39 051 287111 fax +39 051 287525.
The same addresses can be used to exercise the rights provided under the GDPR in favour of data subjects (Articles 15 to 21 and Article 34 of the GDPR: for example access to, erasure, updating, rectification, completion of data, etc.).
Any further requests regarding the use of cookies on this website can be sent to the Data Protection Officer of Hera S.p.A. at the email address dataprotectionofficer@gruppohera.it or by calling +39 051 0577046.

What cookies are used on this website?

This website uses:

  • technical cookies, designed to ensure the proper use of the site content;
  • third-party cookies as a tool for anonymous and aggregated analysis of the behaviour of visitors to the site itself, namely: Google Analytics and SessionCam.
  • third-party profiling cookies.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text strings that a website can send to the user's device during their visit to the website (be it a PC, a notebook, a smartphone or a tablet) and they are usually saved directly on the browser used for browsing. The same website that sent them can then read and record the cookies that are on the device to obtain various types of information.

How many types of cookies are there?

There are different types of cookies, with different characteristics. Cookies can be classified, above all, as:

  • session cookies, which are deleted immediately when the browser is closed (e.g. Internet Explorer, Safari, Google Chrome, etc.)
  • persistent cookies, which - unlike session cookies - remain on the device and continue to operate even after the browser has been closed and until a certain period of time has passed
  • first-party cookies, i.e. cookies generated and managed directly by the operator of the website where the user is browsing
  • third-party cookies, which are generated and managed by parties other than the operator of the website where the user is browsing (by virtue, as a rule, of a contract between the website owner and the third party).

The two functional macro-categories are:

  • technical cookies
technical cookies are generally necessary for the correct operation of the website and to allow browsing; without them the visitor might not be able to view the pages correctly or use certain services. For example, a technical cookie is required to keep the user connected throughout their visit to a website, or to store language settings, display settings, and so on. Technical cookies can be further divided into browser cookies, which ensure the normal browsing and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or have authentication to access restricted areas); analytics cookies, assimilated to technical cookies only when used directly by the operator of the website to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site; functionality cookies, which allow the user to browse according to a set of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to that user.
One should note that the use of technical cookies does not require consent from the user, because, according to the provisions of Directive 2009/136/EC and the provision of the Italian Data Protection Authority dated 8 May 2014, they are required to "enable the use of a specific service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user".

  • profiling cookies
profiling cookies are designed to create profiles of the user and are used to promote offers in line with the preferences displayed by the user during web browsing. Since these tools are not necessary for the correct operation of the website but are used exclusively to allow the site user to learn about offers that best suit his or her needs, the site user's consent is required, which can be freely revoked at any time without prejudice to the processing prior to the revocation (Art. 6, para. 1, letter a) of the GDPR), and Hera S.p.A., to the extent of its responsibilities and in accordance with current regulations, shall provide the updated link to the policy statements and consent forms of third parties with whom it has entered into agreements for the installation of cookies through its website.
