Making it easier and more beneficial for citizens to use the drop-off points in local areas, supporting projects to prevent the production of waste by recovering excess materials, food and otherwise, promoting good practices in the field of energy savings: these are the main action areas of the initiatives on which the Modena LAB worked in its first year.
The results of this first year were presented on Tuesday 13 September 2016 by the President of the Province of Modena, Giancarlo Muzzarelli, and CEO of Hera, Stefano Venier. The meeting, which took place at the Hera site in Modena, was also attended by some of the members of the HeraLAB.
In accordance with the project regulations, the LAB has decided to donate the funds collected via the attendance fees of the first year, €7,100, to several important local projects: €5,000 will go towards the development of the initiatives to combat poverty of the Social Emporia Network of the Province of Modena ("Portobello" in Modena, "Il Melograno" in Sassuolo, "Il Pane e le Rose" in Soliera, etc.), while the remainder will go to two non-profit associations active in the Frignano area (FrignAut and ANFFAS).
