Federica Seganti was born in Trieste on 29 May 1966.
Since 2017 she has been an independent director of Hera Spa and member of the Ethics and Sustainability Committee, where she has served as Chairwoman since 2020.
Since 2016, she has been Professor of Technique of Banking and Insurance Operations at the Department of Economic Sciences and Statistics of Udine University.
She has held the position of Program Director for MIRM - Master in Insurance & Risk Management, at MIB Trieste School of Management since 2003. Since 1991, she has been Professor of Finance, Core Faculty of the MIB Trieste School of Management - Finance, Accounts and Control area, where she teaches and lectures in the Executives Education and Post Graduate Divisions.
Between 2000 and 2004, she was the Director of the Specialisation Course in Project Financing at MIB Trieste School of Management.
She served as lecturer for the course in Economics of Transportation at Trieste University between 1997 and 1999.
She held the position of Teaching Coordinator for the Master in Transportation, Intermodality and Logistics at MIB Trieste School of Management between 1995 and 1998.
Since 2019, she has been Chairwoman and Managing Director of Friulia Spa.
She has been an independent Board Director of Fincantieri Spa since 2019. She has been a Board Director of Finest Spa since 2019. Since 2018, she has been an independent Board Director of Autostrada Pedemontana Lombarda Spa.
Since 2017, she has been an independent Board Director of Hera Spa, where she has also held positions in internal committees and Group companies.
In 2013, she was appointed independent Board Director of Eurizon Capital Sgr Spa and a member of the Internal Control Committee and of the Compensation Committee.
She was a member of the Strategy Advisory Board of EY Financial Services between 2017 and 2019.
Between 2010 and 2016, she was a Member of the Occupational Pensions Stakeholder Group of EIOPA - European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority.
As regards the institutional offices she has held: between 2010 and 2013, she was Councillor for Productive Activities, with delegated powers over Local Police and Security, of the Autonomous Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Between 2010 and 2013, she was a member with permanent mandate of ECOS - Commission for Economic and Social Policy of the European Committee of the Regions, in Brussels. Between 2008 and 2010, she was Councillor for Local Planning, Local Self-governments and Security, EU Affairs and International Relations of the Autonomous Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Between 2001 and 2003, she was Councillor for Construction, Public Works and Local Planning of the Autonomous Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Between 1998 and 2003, she was a member of the Commissione Fondo Trieste at the Government Commissioner of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region.
She earned a PhD in Finance from the School of Finance (Universities of Trieste, Udine, Florence and Bocconi - Milan), with a grant in Mathematics applied to Economic and Statistical Sciences.
She graudated with a degree in Political Science (specialisation in economics) from Trieste University.
