After gaining first prize outright in the opening edition and winning the award for communication last year, Hera has added another prize to its record of achievements, awarded to the Group "for the best results for environmental sustainability and social responsibility". There are 66 specific parameters in the survey that the multi-utility excelled in, always coming in first place on the winner's podium, both as a company as a whole and with regard to the specific areas of interest examined.
As the lowest common denominator of the entire corporate organisation, sustainability is the subject, each year, of a specific form of reporting, the Sustainability Report, which assures all those involved complete and timely information on the social and environmental impacts of the Group. The Report illustrates the activities, results and targets that are typical of the multi-utility's commitment on this front.
"We are very proud of this award which is confirmation of our commitment to sustainability - stated Filippo Bocchi, Hera Group Corporate Social Responsibility Director- because the targets relating to environmental and social aspects are integrated in our planning and control system and are promptly reported in our sustainability report, which is prepared very carefully and complies closely with international standards, and is independently audited and since 2007 has been published at the same time as the financial statements. Publishing a sustainability report - concluded Bocchi - is not a question of image for us, but rather it represents a profound and unswerving commitment, capable of confirming the values that are the foundation of a development model created together with the reference areas, in the interests of the company and all stakeholders, through concrete goals and results."
