The Group's 2015 Sustainability Report recently approved by the Shareholders' Meeting. Focus on local areas and communities, with a view to shared value and the centrality of the circular economy: these are just some elements of a framework of continuous improvement that launches the Group towards meeting future challenges.
"The year 2015 saw a succession of important events that represent cornerstones of sustainability for the coming decades, from the agreement reached in Paris at the COP 21 to the European Commission's package for the transition to the circular economy, as well as the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development signed by the United Nations Member States: these are all pieces of an overall scenario that confirms the importance of a mobilisation to safeguard the future of the planet, in which businesses also can and should play a role", noted Stefano Venier, Hera CEO. "Again this year, our Report contains excellent results in terms of economic, social and environmental sustainability, of which we provide an accurate, completely transparent account to all of our stakeholders, while also laying out targets for the near future, and which confirm our active role, even on several very advanced frontiers, in supporting the local areas and communities in which we operate, with a view to shared value".
