Born in Ravenna on 14/05/1967.
Since 2023, he has been President of Confservizi Emilia-Romagna and Chairman of Hera Trading, as well as Director of Hera and Hera Luce.
From 2020 to 2023, he served as a Regional Councillor of Emilia-Romagna, sitting on the Budget, General and Institutional Affairs Committee; the Economic Policies Committee; the Territory, Environment and Mobility Committee; and the Statute and Regulations Committee. He served as rapporteur on several laws, including the 2022–2027 Waste Management Plan and the 2022–2024 Regional Energy Plan. A freelance journalist, he has been an editorial contributor to Il Messaggero on economic and energy issues since 2022. From 2014 to 2020, he was Regional Councillor of Emilia-Romagna in the Budget, General and Institutional Affairs Committee; the Economic Policies Committee; the Committee for the Promotion of conditions of full equality between women and men. He was Vice-Chairman of the Special Committee for Research and Study on Cooperatives.
From 2011 to 2014, he was Vice-President of the Province of Ravenna with responsibility for: Policies for development (Policies for industry, crafts and commerce); Port; EU policies; Technological innovation; University, scientific research; Statistics; Public Shareholdings. During the same period, he was also a member of the Coordination Board of the University of Bologna Campus.
From 2006 to 2011, he was a Municipal Councillor of the Municipality of Ravenna and a member of the Environment and Transport Committee and of the Electoral Committee.
From 2006 to 2011, he was Acting Commissioner of the Provincial Agricultural Consortium of Rovigo.
From 2001 to 2011, over two terms of office, he served as Head of the Cabinet of the President of the Province of Ravenna.
From 2000 to 2001, he was appointed to the Cabinet Office and the Technical Secretariat of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts, where he was responsible for matters relating to local public services and energy. From 1999 to 2000, he was appointed to the Special Secretariat, the International Relations Office, the Italian National Committee of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and the Technical Secretariat of the Minister for Agricultural and Forestry Policies.
Since 1998, he has worked for the Hera Group and is currently on leave.
His publications include: “Post-Merkel. Un vuoto che solo l’Europa può riempire.” (2021); “House of zar. Geopolitica ed energia al tempo di Putin, Erdogan e Trump” (2020); “Gas naturale. L’energia di domani” (2018).
He graduated in Political Science from the University of Bologna.
