Investing in innovation for a high quality integrated water service
We are the nation's second-largest operator in the integrated water service and (through aqueducts, sewers and purification plants) we distribute excellent quality drinking water, returning it clean to the environment.
From harvesting to distribution, the water we supply is safe because we treat it carefully. More than 2,800 analyses per day confirm this.
In today's context, where the demand for water is increasing and climate change is affecting the amount available, protecting this resource is crucial. This is why we dedicate large investments to the water sector every year, working on research and innovation projects and adopting technological solutions that enable reduced water consumption, in line with the circular economy and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Furthermore, we constantly monitor our networks to reduce water leaks.

With the division of water networks into districts; the search for leaks using traditional systems, satellites and cosmic rays; the use of smart meters with acoustic sensors; network decontamination and pressure optimisation.

Stakeholder engagement
Through co-ordination with consortia, utilities and authorities, providing support to companies to identify actions to reduce water consumption.
State-of-the-art installations and owners
We are equipped with a strong plant system that enables us to make water available for domestic and industrial use. To make it potable, the water is treated in our drinking water plants.
We provide water service through 394 drinking water plants and purification service through 857 treatment plants.

To ensure the safety of water, potentially pollutant substances must be intercepted at the source and prevented from entering our drinking water systems.
How do we do it? By means of an early warning system that allows preventive control of the quality of water distributed to the end user.
