Captureste: the Italian frontier of decarbonisation in waste-to-energy plants
Captureste is the first industrial CO₂ capture project in Italy, and one of the first in Europe applied to the waste-to-energy sector. It is a key lever of Hera Group’s Climate Transition Plan for achieving Net Zero by 2050. The project will be implemented at the Herambiente Ferrara plant, in a strategic position between the geothermal district heating network and the geological storage site in Ravenna.
