The Hera Group has been recognised for the seventh year in a row as a “Top Employer”, once again receiving this prestigious recognition.
This achievement was recognised by the Dutch certifying body, Top Employers Institute, which, since 1991, has conducted research to evaluate the quality standards of working conditions offered to the employees of the best companies in the world. Top Employers, one of the most prestigious awards at international level, recognises those companies that have demonstrated an ability to offer excellent working conditions to their employees.
The certification process, which over the years has become increasingly rigorous and selective, entails a detailed analysis for all companies of pay, working conditions, training and development, career opportunities and corporate culture. In this manner, only the companies that achieve the highest scores, as required by the certification, may be classified as Top Employers.
This year, 66 companies were certified in Italy: amongst these, the only multiutility company is the Hera Group, which has participated in the project since 2010 and has been awarded this recognition for the seventh consecutive year.
In particular, Hera is one of the top companies in Italy in terms of investment in employee updating and personal and professional development, offering 31.4 hours of training per capita. Over the years, the Group has sought to make its training experiences increasingly impactful and engaging and, thanks to HerAcademy, the Group’s Corporate University, it has laid the foundations for ongoing interaction with other companies and the main academic institutions (universities and business schools).
Amongst the most innovative aspects are initiatives relating to welfare, which aim to favour employee well-being and work-life balance (such as policies regarding leave and other absences from work, as well as support when employees return to work, nurseries for employees’ children in the various communities and mobility support), coaching and counselling initiatives, the spread of leadership development activities, employee management, emotional intelligence and policies that provide the possibility of development opportunities for the entire company population. This last aspect boosts the Hera Group to the top of the classification in Italy.
