TRANSITION TO A CIRCULAR ECONOMY	SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF WATER RESOURCES	PROTECTION OF AIR, LAND, AND BIODIVERSITY
Adoption of a series of actions and objectives relating to the promotion of recycling, reuse and separate waste collection, the reduction of the production of municipal waste and packaging and the use of landfills, and the adoption of a series of practices that improve the efficiency of the use of material resources at cross-sectoral level, including the dissemination of optimisation methods and the improvement of product and process design.	Implementation of activities that guarantee the highest quality standards of water resources in both urban and rural areas and the adoption of a series of water efficiency practices by defining clear and consistent strategic objectives in compliance with the regulatory obligations established at European level.	Implementing strategies and recommendations at national and European level aimed at protecting biodiversity and natural ecosystems, with particular attention to air quality and soil re-use, through a more judicious operation of processes, plants and vehicles and the implementation of preventive actions.

Approximately 54% of the shared-value ebitda generated in 2023 (422 million euro) derives from activities and projects within the “Regenerating resources and closing the circle” driver.

Approximately 51.9% of the “shared value” EBITDA generated in 2023 derives from activities and projects that respond to the “calls to action” of the UN 2030 Global Agenda to “regenerate resources and close the circle”. At the “Area of impact” level, an important role of the Group emerges in value creation with activities related to the promotion of energy efficiency (€164.7 million) and the energy transition and renewables (€117.4 million).

By studying the national and global scenario, Hera Group has established specific resources-related short- and medium-term goals, which are verified and renewed annually.
