The Hera Group supported the communities affected by the floods
In May, two exceptional floods devastated Emilia-Romagna, particularly the provinces of Ravenna, Forlì-Cesena, Rimini, Bologna, Modena, and Reggio Emilia. There were 17 fatalities, 100 municipalities affected, 1,000 landslides, 23 rivers overflowing, 36,000 displaced people, and damages amounting to billions of euros. Many Hera employees and their families were affected but did not shy away from the massive rescue and restoration effort the Group launched. A task force of over a thousand operators, supported by more than 250 vehicles, was quickly created and worked nonstop, 24 hours a day, to restore essential services. The aim was to minimise disruption to the affected communities and to prevent a public health crisis, working closely with local authorities, Civil Protection, and regional and local control centres.
