AcegasApsAmga S.p.A.
AcegasApsAmga, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hera Group, is the leading multi-utility company in Northeastern Italy, operating in the environmental services, water, gas and electricity distribution sectors in the Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions. In addition, thanks to the activities of subsidiaries HSE, Hera Servizi Energia and Hera Luce, it carries out energy efficiency and public lighting projects throughout Italy. AcegasApsAmga is also the second largest gas operator in Bulgaria with activities in both the sale and distribution of methane gas.
The company is based on a business model characterised by a strong focus on the circular economy and environmental sustainability, a formal commitment included and made explicit in the Group's bylaws, and has a 170-year history. During this time, municipalities have guided, and at times even anticipated, the social, economic and cultural development of communities with services that are essential to improving the overall quality of life of citizens. Its history begins in 1853 and has been reconstructed from records across Northeastern Italy, tracing a path that leads to the present-day AcegasApsAmga. For more than a century and a half, the company has been lighting homes, supplying energy, providing clean drinking water, and maintaining the cleanliness of towns and cities in Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto. The company reflects the best traditions of local public services in Northeastern Italy, also in its financial performance. In 2024, AcegasApsAmga generated €147.5 million in shared value EBITDA, meaning a portion of earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation that is directly tied to creating value for the communities it serves.
With 1,700 employees serving 2 million citizens, AcegasApsAmga delivers essential services around the clock: it supplies water, gas and electricity to households, manages waste collection and street cleaning, and provides public lighting and energy efficiency solutions for critical infrastructure such as schools and hospitals across 337 municipalities, from regional capitals to towns and small villages.
The common mission of AcegasApsAmga and Hera Group is to be the best multi-utilities for their customers, workers and shareholders, to be competitive and go beyond obsolete models on the public utility market by stimulating and adjusting to changing habits, while characterising their services with innovative solutions, and striving to attain a "zero" environmental impact. To be the best multi-utility is for AcegasApsAmga a mission that is expressed every day in the small and important activities necessary to provide efficient and sustainable services, proactively responding to the needs of local communities, supporting the resilience of cities and spreading the culture of a circular economy.
