Tomaso Tommasi di Vignano
Tomaso Tommasi di Vignano was born in Brescia in 1947.
He has been heading the Hera Group since November 2002 and, as Executive Chairman, managed the process of listing the company on the stock exchange, which took place in June 2003. Today, the Group has a capitalisation of Euro 5.8 billion, a turnover of Euro 7.4 billion and over 9,000 employees.
Between 1999 and 2002, he held the office of Chief Executive Officer of the multi-utility Acegas Spa and managed its privatisation through an initial public offering.
In 1997, as Chief Executive Officer of STET, he completed the company’s merger with Telecom Italia (a Group with 126,000 people and a turnover of USD 24 billion). He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Telecom Italia and supervised the Group’s full privatisation.
Between 1994 and 1997, he held the position of General Manager of Telecom Italia and was the Head of the International Division, Business Customer Division and Residential Customer Division.
Between December 1992 and May 1994, as Chief Executive Officer of Intel S.p.A., he was entrusted with the task of transforming the old state company into a new company which subsequently merged with Telecom Italia, completing the restructuring in just 18 months.
He started his career at Sip S.p.A., in the Personnel area, where he was appointed Group Personnel Manager (80,000 employees) in 1989.
He graduated with a degree in Law from Padua University.
