Born in Milan on 30/05/1965.

Since 2003, she has been Full Professor of Financial Intermediaries Economics at the University of Parma, where she teaches the course “Risk Management and Value Creation in Banks” in the Master’s Degree programme in Finance and Risk Management and E-banking”, and where, since 2018, she has served as Vice-Chair of the Board of the above-mentioned degree programme.
Since 1990, she has been an Affiliate Professor at SDA Bocconi School of Management (Milan), in the Financial Intermediation and Insurance area. She manages courses on Management Skills Development in the Banking and Financial sector.

She also holds numerous academic positions at Italian and international universities and is the author of several publications, including “Internal governance. Nuove regole, esperienze e best practice per l’organizzazione dei controlli interni delle banche” and “The determination of reputational risk in the banking sector”.

Since 2019, she has been an Affiliate Professor at the Faculty of Economics of Roma Tre University, where she teaches on the Master’s programme in Governance, Control Systems and Auditing in Public and Private Entities.

Since 2016, she has acted as Monitoring Trustee for the European Commission in relation to UBI Banca, in the context of the resolution of Banca delle Marche, Banca dell’Etruria e del Lazio and Cassa di Risparmio di Chieti. Since 2013, she has been a member of the PhD faculty in Economics and Management of Innovation and Sustainability at the University of Parma and the University of Ferrara. Since 2013, she has also been a member of the Board of Arbitrators of AIFIRM (Italian Association of Financial Industry Risk Managers). Since 2010, she has served as a party-appointed expert witness in civil and criminal proceedings. In this area, she mainly deals with consulting on internal auditing, internal controls and compliance. She is also a member of Supervisory Bodies pursuant to Legislative Decree 231/2001.

She holds numerous positions on administrative and supervisory bodies, including Independent Director and Vice-Chair of the Supervisory Board, and

Chair of the Audit Committee of Deutsche Bank; Independent Director and member of the Control and Risk Committee of Hera Group; and Non-Executive Independent Director of Hera Trading.

Until 2023, she also served as Independent Director of Cellularline S.p.A. (listed on the STAR segment of Borsa Italiana), where she also chaired the Control and Risk Committee; Independent Director of Ferrovie dello Stato S.p.A.; Independent Director of Credito Emiliano S.p.A. (listed on the MTA segment of Borsa Italiana), where she also served as Chair of the Group Risk Committee, member of the Remuneration Committee and of the Independent Directors Committee (Related Party Transactions Committee), as well as member of the Supervisory Committee of IGM SGR in compulsory administrative liquidation, appointed by the Bank of Italy and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Between 1998 and 2003, she served as Chair of the degree programme in Environmental and Cultural Economics at the University of Lecce.

She holds a degree in Business Administration from Bocconi University in Milan.
