Environmental passport

15 monitored indicators in 8 different areas

Observation dashboard of the cities for constant monitoring and environmental data available in real time. It can be powered in part by the sensors present in the PUNTOnet multiservice hubs.

For municipalities the Dashboard is an analysis and monitoring dashboard for the city, which allows the processing and correlation data from various services and sensors installed within the municipal areas (control units for air quality, satellite maps, smart technological infrastructures, etc.) to be displayed.

There is also an Environmental Passport within the Dashboard. This passport is a tool that monitors the objectives originating from the SDGs of the UN Agenda 2030 and from the "Bologna Charter for the Environment" protocol. 8 areas are monitored:

  • sustainable use of the ground and solutions based on natural processes;
  • circular economy;
  • adaptation to climate change and reduction of risk of disasters;
  • energy transition;
  • air quality;
  • water quality;
  • ecosystems, urban green spaces and biodiversity safeguarding;
  • sustainable mobility.

Through the Dashboard and the Environmental Passport, municipal administrations therefore have an IT system that allows constant and real-time monitoring of environmental data. This process of analysis is useful in evaluating the environmental and qualitative status of the area and allows the subsequent implementation of improvement processes and changes aimed at sustainability. Each specific action can be sized to monitor the set objective.

Over the course of 2018 the Dashboard was provided to the municipality of Castel Bolognese with the services: environmental sensors, PUNTOnet prototype, energy maps and Environmental Passport. On the basis of the know-how acquired, also thanks to the experience of Castel Bolognese, a second release of the platform was created in the first half of 2019 with optimisations providing more value to the sustainability objectives and also facilitating use of the platform by the municipal technicians.
