Seeking continuous improvement
- Defining measurable, comparable objectives and goals with indicators, taking into consideration aspects relating to quality, the environment and workplace health and safety in every action and decision.
- Promoting initiatives aimed at monitoring and improving the level of customer satisfaction.
- Preventing and reducing environmental impacts, particularly through:
− a policy of integrated waste management shared with local partners and increasingly aimed at improving the local area;
− the management of the integrated water service, with a view to helping save resources and improve surface water quality in the area;
− constant attention to the atmospheric emissions of the group’s plants;
− seeking solutions that enable energy saving and energy production from renewable sources, curbing the use of fossil fuels; - Preventing and reducing health and safety risks for workers, particularly:
− preventing risks at source, namely when planning, choosing materials and identifying methods and technologies;
− guaranteeing that the work environment is suitable, safe and ergonomic for the activities to be carried out;
− protecting workers’ health through continuous sanitary monitoring and assessment;
− reducing accidents and occupational illnesses affecting workers; - Implementing effective accident prevention measures and limiting harmful consequences for workers, the environment and public health by adopting the best available economically sustainable techniques.
Guaranteeing compliance with legislation on quality, safety and environment
- Implementing close and continuous monitoring of the quality of service provided to customers with regard to compliance with applicable legislation, conventions with environmental agencies and service charters, and with regard to the application of regulations on environment, health and safety.
Engaging stakeholders and promoting transparency
- Raising awareness about the commitments of the group’s policy, particularly with regard to environmental, quality and safety aspects, and getting the company’s workers, suppliers, customers and the public involved with its objectives and goals.
- Motivatingworkers to develop a sense of responsibility at every level towards the environment and the health and safety of themselves and their colleagues, including through training courses.
- Educating, with particular attention to the younger generations, behaviour that shows respect for the environment and awareness about the correct use of natural resources.
- Promoting dialogue and discussion with all stakeholders (public authorities, local residents, associations etc.), taking into account their needs and implementing suitable methods of participation, and communicating the company's services transparently.
The Board of Directors identifies the development of an integrated management system for quality, safety and environment as a strategic choice. The Chief Executive Officer is involved in respecting and implementing these commitments by periodically ensuring and checking that the policy is documented, put into action, kept active, periodically reviewed, distributed to all staff and made available to the public.
