Hera Group has a Laboratories System with cutting-edge technologies that analyse drinking water, waste water, gas, waste and emissions to ensure continuous and quality control.

The Water Cycle Industry of Hera works to expertly manage resources, aimed at harmonic environmental development and the wellbeing of local communities.

The laboratory works in management, planning and development in the integrated water service sector, in the gas sector and in the remote control sector.  It conducts applied research into the environment and it is oriented to improving the efficacy of systems and to protecting the environment and its resources.

This is the context of the activities of Hera Group Laboratories System, comprising three principal Laboratories located in Bologna, Forlì and Ravenna, and one laboratory unit in Ferrara.

Also contributing to the system are the seven logistics units for sampling, located throughout the region and in close contact with the systems for the water cycle (potability
treatment, distribution and purification) and waste treatment (waste-to-energy, composting, and disposal). This organisational model was created to make the best use of Hera Group’s assets of skills, professionalism and plant technologies.

For better service to the regional communities, Hera Group has decided to widen the field of activities of its Laboratories and to carry out research and analysis to a level even higher than that required by the most stringent legislation.

The technical expertise gained is constantly coordinated with new scientific standards and with progressive updates to legislation, for both environment and health. This is partly achieved through cooperative agreements with research bodies (including the University, the Italian Institute of Health, and the Mario Negri Institute) and through participating in interlaboratory circuits in Italy and Europe.
